Randall Wellings stumbled upon archery in 1992 whilst searching for a new
activity following his retirement from an amateur motorcycle racing career,
fifteen years of competition had taking it’s toll.
The exciting sport of Field archery became the main focus of Randall’s
endeavors with all other forms of archery providing considered serious
training for future competition. 1993 IFAA World Bowhunting titles in
Australia was the first major competition, the taste for international
competition became a hunger, practice routines in the form of Trans-
Tasman events were common.

1996 Darrington W.A. became the launch pad for a wonderful future in
World events. Darrington provided the opportunity to test a preconceived
ability, three World records and a Silver medal simply fed the desire to

Crystal Parker began shooting in
2002 and was immediately taken
by the sport. In 2003 she
advanced from shooting leagues
and club shoots to winning her
first state championship and has
since achieved success at the
national, sectional and state
levels. Crystal currently
competes out of Washington
where she is a program manager
for Microsoft (in between
tournaments and hunting / fishing
trips).

During one of the many trips to the USA, whilst in Vegas competing, Randall
was fortunate to run into Dave Barnsdale, an archery icon to the “bloke from
Downunder.” Whilst aware of Dave’s limb building ability, Randall was totally
impressed by the “Barniebow.” More impressive was Dave’s offer to get
together and create “ the perfect finger shooters bow.”
What was to follow was the creation of a beautiful 43” Classic X, complete
with “Doovawoppies,”
Randall is now at Straight Line Archery, located in Ishpeming, in the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan. Coaching and providing technical support to the
multitude of archers is proving very worthwhile.
